R.I.P. Baby Rocky. It hasn’t fully registered in my mind, but you are gone. Today is one of the worst days of my life. You meant the world to me! I had the honor of being your mommy since March 10, 2010, but it still wasn’t long enough. You literally appeared on my front porch. You were my gift from God! Born to be my baby boy. You awakened that maternal instinct that I never knew I had.
I named you Rocky because you were a fighter. Your IVDD almost took your ability to walk, but you made a complete recovery by having two complicated surgeries. You were determined and pulled through!!
I don’t know who your original owners were, but I know I was the one meant for you and vice versa. Unlike most dogs, you weren’t naturally affectionate but you LOVED being babied, and I LOVED hugging, kissing, and swaddling you. You loved me in your own special way and would show me by the look in your eyes and the desire to always be by my side.
You truly were my child. I couldn’t stop talking or thinking about you. Within five minutes, a stranger would know I have a dog named Rocky. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like without you. You lit up my life! No matter how bad my day was, seeing you and holding you made it all better.
I wish I could have you with me forever, but I didn’t want you to suffer. No more pain, baby boy. 😢💔🙏🏻
